Long distance retreats and spiritual direction

Our contemporary world has reached levels of communication that we could not have dreamed of just a few years ago. Recently, we have developed a ministry for long distance spiritual direction and retreats. The process is easy to set up, the director and the directee download a free service called Skype. Skype provides an opportunity to have a conversation with someone on computer using a webcam. This service gives the directee and director an opportunity to meet face to face regardless of their location. The exciting part of this ministry is that those who once felt that they could not not find a spiritual director have an opportunity to receive the guidance that they desire. Skype gives us with the opportunity to practice spiritual direction and enhance it by using contemporary forms of communication.
